The 7th Sino-French Optoelectronics Forum is an important part of POEM 2019 conference to enhance the Sino-French cooperation on photonics and optoelectronics. This forum is organized under the Sino-French 'Photonet' research network, which currently includes 8 Chinese teams and 7 French teams. This year the academic topics of the forum will cover biophotonics, optical imaging, metamaterials, photonic nanomaterial and nanofabrication, integrated optics, etc.

Title: Quantitative photoacoustic probing of biological tissues: accessing to multiphysics information content

Abstract: Photoacoustic offers promising perspectives in probing and imaging subsurface absorbing structures in biological tissues. Our research focusses on developing new strategies to retrieve the maximum information from the multiwaves measured signals. The different methodological strategies and experimental developments conducted in our group are presented.

Title: Bio-imaging and bio-sensing with upconversion nanoparticles

Abstract: Upconversion nanoparticles have been developed as an important group of luminescent biomarkers since the unique luminescence properties. Upconversion nanoparticles could convert near-infrared excitation light to emission light with a shorter wavelength, which help avoid autofluorescence and high light toxicity in bio-imaging and bio-sensing. Although plenty of efforts have been devoted to upconversion nanoparticles, there are still some challenges in bio-imaging of higher quality and bio-sensing of higher sensitivity.

Abstract: Here we will demonstrate an optical clearing skull window, which not only promise to image cortical neuron at synaptic resolution, but also to long-term trace cortical vascular structure and function.

Title: Nanobeam cavities for hybrid integration of active materials on silicon

Abstract: The hybrid integration of active materials on silicon can take benefit from cavities integrated directly into optical waveguides, the so-called nanobeam cavities. Our examples are based in particular on the integration of carbon nanotubes.

Title: Femtosecond laser nanofabrication, from fundamental to applications

Abstract: We will introduce the recent progress of femtosecond laser nanofabrication for micro-optical components and their integrated systems, including micro-optical systems, wearable electronics, intelligent robots, and quantum photonic chips in our lab.

Title: Tunable and transparent surface relief nanocavities for single nano-objects deposition

Abstract: Fabrication and characterization of transparent and stretchable nanoscale cavities on PDMS surfaces is presented. The process consists in the fabrication and replication of quasi-crystal structures with a photoinduced thin film.

Title: Spatial and frequency selective plasmonic metasurface for long wavelength infrared spectral region

Abstract: A high performance plasmonic metasurface–based absorber for the long wavelength infrared spectral region is presented which possesses multiple selective high absorption bands and has various applications including thermal infrared light sources, uncooled infrared photodetectors, and hyperspectral thermal imaging.

Title: Modeling of effective parameters in periodic photonic structures using Kramers-Kronig relations

Abstract: Propagation of electromagnetic waves in periodic structures are governed by the dispersion law of the Bloch waves. A modeling of the dispersion law is proposed, using the complex analytic structure of the Bloch spectrum and the Kramers-Kronig expression extended to complex frequencies. Several explicit formula of the effective parameters will be given for multilayer stacks.

Title: Unconventional super-resolution imaging in microsphere assisted microscopy

Abstract: After the discovery of the ability of dielectric microspheres to focus light beyond the diffraction limit in the photonic nanojet, the same microspheres have now been used to achieve label-free full-field super-resolved imaging.

Title: High efficiency surface plasmon excitations and wavefront controls

Abstract: This talk will review our recent progress on high efficiency surface plasmon (SP) excitations and reshapings with metasurfaces. Some exotic effects, including SP negative reflection, SP focusing, are demonstrated by simulations and near-field experiments. Our work may stimulate many SP related applications.

Title: Linearization of nonlinear Schrödinger equation and its applications

Abstract: Based on a pump-probe configuration, we show that the Hamiltonian approach, which diagonalizes linear problems and finds their eigenstates, can be applied to nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the analyses of cross mode modulation.

Title: Universal onchip multimode routing devices based on transformation optics

Abstract: Multimode routing devices are difficult to design by traditional method. We introduce transformation optics into the design of multimode bending, multimode taper and multimode crossing, which could support any number of waveguide modes theoretically. And gray-scale E-beam lithography is developed to fabricate the transformed fisheye multimode crossing.
